Deep Basics
In this special program, we have designed a progression of classes that review the most important Argentine Tango choreographic ideas. We will explore sequences that we consider “interesting combinations” because of two reasons:
1) how these combinations address particular problems of coordination and then reveal solutions that improve the general concerns of dancing, and
2) why we truly believe these combinations offer a particular beauty that at times may highlight the ‘shape’ the ‘dynamics’ and sometimes the ‘structure’ itself.
Through this approach, we will be able to identify and then analyze these combinations and sequences so as to resolve problems through the detection and correction of basic problems.
We recognize that to arrive at the mastery of movement, we must delve into the ‘complexity’ of what often is deemed "simple". This is because our study looks deeply into the components that support both the partnership and the musicality. And while we will practice and analyze specific combinations, the elements of these combinations will serve as an ‘example’ that can be very useful and applicable to other variations that you may choose to dance.
